Privacy Policy

YT Video Downloader is a free tool for turning YouTube links into MP4 or MP3 files. This page lays out what we see when you use it, why we see it, and what you can do about it. We have kept it in plain English on purpose, because a privacy policy you can't read isn't much use to anyone.

Here is the short version. You don't need an account to use the free converter. We don't sell your data. The files you create are deleted fast. Everything below just says that in more detail.

We work to meet the GDPR in Europe, the CCPA and CPRA in California, and CalOPPA. Where your local law gives you stronger rights, that stronger rule wins.

What We Actually Collect

The free converter needs no sign-up, so we never ask for your name or a profile. What reaches us is the ordinary technical information every website receives when a page loads:

• Basic request data. Your IP address, browser and version, device type, which pages you open, and the date and time. This keeps the service online and helps us catch abuse.
• The link you paste. We need the video URL to fetch it and build your file. We don't publish it or attach it to your name.
• Premium details, only if you upgrade. Buying Premium means giving us an email and paying through Stripe. Your full card number never touches our servers; Stripe handles the payment.

Cookies and Analytics

We use a handful of cookies. A few are essential and simply make the site work. The rest are for analytics and ads, so we can see which pages get used and keep the lights on. You can clear or block cookies in your browser whenever you like, and the converter still runs without the optional ones.

We also rely on third-party tools like Google Analytics and Google AdSense, which set their own cookies. How they use that information is covered by their policies, not ours.

How Long We Keep It

Your converted files are temporary. They come off our servers right after you download them, and within 24 hours no matter what. We don't build a library of your videos.

Request logs stick around briefly for security and troubleshooting, then they're cleared, unless a law says we have to hold them longer.

Your Rights

Wherever you are, you can ask us to:

• Show it. Get a copy of whatever personal data we hold about you.
• Delete it. Have us erase it.
• Move it. Receive it in a common, portable format.
• Opt out. Stop everything by not using the site; for Premium, cancel from your account.
• Be treated fairly. We won't penalize you for using any of these rights.

Keeping Data Safe

We use sensible, standard safeguards to protect the small amount of data we hold. Still, no website can promise perfect security, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. What we can promise is that we keep very little in the first place, which is the best protection there is.

Children

This service isn't built for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect anything from them. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child sent us personal data, contact us and we'll remove it.

Links to Other Sites

Our pages link out to places we don't run, YouTube among them. The moment you follow one of those links, that site's own privacy policy takes over. We can't control how other companies handle your data and we don't answer for it, so it's worth reading their terms as well.

Updates to This Policy

If we change how we handle data, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. Glancing at this page now and then is a good habit. Any change takes effect as soon as it's posted.
