A free online tool for cutting the part of a YouTube video you actually want, and downloading just that. Built and run by a small independent team, no signup for the free tier, and nothing installed on your machine.

Who runs this, and how it works

YouTube Video Downloader is operated independently and has been online since 2025. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to YouTube or Google in any way. We are a small team that got tired of downloading a two hour video to keep forty seconds of it.

Nothing runs on your device. You paste a link, our servers fetch the source, cut the range you set and hand back a file. Output is deleted automatically after 10 minutes on the free tier and 45 minutes on Premium, and we do not keep a copy of what you cut.

The free tier is paid for by advertising, and Premium removes the ads while adding Multi-Clip, the higher resolutions and priority processing. That is the whole business model, there is nothing hidden behind it.

We do not host, store or distribute any video, and we grant no rights to the material you process. You are responsible for holding the rights to whatever you download. If something you own has been handled through this site in a way it should not have been, our DMCA process is on the Report DMCA page and we act on valid notices.

Why Saving Part of a YouTube Video Is Harder Than It Should Be

Every other route to a 40 second clip has a catch:

YouTube's own Clip button stops at 60 seconds, wants you signed in, and gives back a link instead of a file.
Downloading a two hour upload to keep 40 seconds wastes your data, your storage and your afternoon.
Screen recording re-compresses what is already compressed, so the clip looks worse than what you watched.
Desktop editors want an install, an account and a render queue for a single cut.
Plenty of free web cutters stamp a watermark on the result or hide anything above 360p behind a signup.
On a phone most of them hand you the desktop layout, where placing the handles accurately is guesswork.
